Vishal mostly known as Tamil actor who appeared more in Tamil films and got dubbed in Telugu is basically from Telugu background with his mother tongue Telugu.

Vishal is born as Vishal Krishna Reddy  on 29 August 1977 in Andhra Pradesh, is the son of  producer G.K Reddy for Tamil and Telugu films being one of the great producers of Tamil films, produced films with top actors like Sivaji Ganesan in ‘Poo Parikka Varugirom’ later he quit production. His family shifted to Chennai for business purpose. His elder brother, Vikram Krishna produces most of his films and has appeared as an actor in small budget films earlier.

Vishal did his schooling from Don Bosco School and secured degree in visual communications from Loyola College, Chennai. Did an apprenticeship in direction with Ram Gopal Varma, after completing his degree.

Before Vishal enter into acting he worked as an assistant director to actor and director Arjun for the films Vedham and Ezhumalai. Then Vishal was spotted by producer and offered him in the lead role in the film Chellamae. But before he started acting in the film Vishal took 3 months acting classes from Koothu-P-Pattarai troupe. Then started his debut in Tamil film Chellamae and acted in three string of movies which were hits along with Chellamae, Sandakozhi and Thimiru, later these films were all dubbed in Telugu that’s how Vishal got introduced Telugu audience.

Vishal appeared in a cameo in Sai’s Dishyum, which also dubbed in Telugu bought him success in both Tamil and Telugu. His next film, Sivappathigaram directed by Karu Pazhaniappan was a political dramaCo-starred with Mamta Mohandas was flopped at box office. He next appeared in a lead role with filmmaker, Bala’s Avan Ivan co-starred with Arya In which Vishal was critically acclaimed for his performance and change of his character.

He worked with director Prabhu Deva and actress Sameera Reddy in his home production in his next venture.

Though Vishal is famous in for Tamil films to Tamil audience he also made his image even in Telugu films also either by dubbing his Tamil films into Telugu and even by making his debut in Telugu films directly, but he very popular in Tollywood as in Tamil.
