Rana Daggubati, a young tall handsome actor and a businessman in Tollywood films was born on December 14, 1984 in in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, to Telugu film producer D. Suresh Babu and is the grandson of Telugu film veteran Dr. D. Ramanaidu a great producer. His fathers brother i.e. His uncle a famous actor Venkatesh in Telugu films, and actor Naga Chaitanya is his cousin brother.

His education was completely on graphics which gave latest look to Telugu film industry with his art of postproduction practices. Rana Daggubati pursued photography at the Konica Institute of Imaging and Technology and also consulting for Timeline studio, a visual effects studio, as a cinematographer in Chennai after his schooling.

Before entering into an acting career, Rana Daggubati was a successful Digital Post production entrepreneur. Rana identified the need for digital services and established DI and state-of-art postproduction technologies through his company, Spirit Media.And got established itself as the premier Digital Post facility in South India to cater to the Telugu film Industry to provide post-production services.

Rana Daggubati produced several documentaries and advertisement films in Chennai and Hyderabad for various brands, gaining proficiency in various facets of film-making.even produced, directed and photographed a 60-minute Hindi film titled “Barah” (12) which won him several accolades in youth film circles.

Then Rana returned to Hyderabad and joined his family business at Ramanaidu Studios and Suresh Productions, their he learnt the art, craft and business of filmmaking from his grandfather and his father D Suresh Babu and his uncle superstar Venkatesh.

Rana Daggubati is also the executive Producer and Cinematographer for a number of ad and feature films produced by Suresh Productions worked on movies released under the banner of ‘Suresh Productions. He set up as a group company of Suresh Productions, and a part of Ramanaidu Studios

Spirit Media entered into a strategic partnership with Nipuna Services Ltd, a fully owned subsidiary of Satyam Computer Services Ltd. in a strategic partnership and were able to provide one-stop solution for post production clients in the Film and Television Industries. After establishing itself in Hyderabad, Rana Daggubati further expanded its operations to Chennai and Bangalore.

Rana Daggubati collaborated Spirit Media with AVM Studios, Chennai for digital post production and also 4k animation GmbH, a German animation company catering to 3D animation and visual effects for Hollywood.

His first film as producer at the age of 21, “A Belly full of Dreams” a film that used the narrative technique of puppetry to explore the physical and emotional journeys of nine year old Ramu and won the National award.

Rana ventured Spirit Media into an alliance with FX Labs, a game development company and developed popular Bollywood movie based video games Dhoom 2 and ‘Ghajini’.

Atlast Rana Daggubati took an intensive training in acting and entered into film industry as actor with his debut film Leader directed by Sekhar Kammula following his uncle actor Venkatesh with hopes to carry on the family legacy, not just behind the camera but in front of it as well and established himself as an accomplished actor.
