Puri Jagannadh born September 28, 1966, is a Tollywood film director and producer.

His directorial debut was Badri, with Pawan Kalyan in the lead role and Renu Desai, Prakash Raj, and Bollywood actress Amisha Patel in the supporting roles.

He started his own film production house Vaishno Academy. His production house went on to produce hit films such as Idiot, Amma Nanna O Tamila Ammayi, Shivamani , and Pokiri (which went on to be the biggest hit of Telugu film industry).

Jagannadh directed Ram Charan Teja’s first film Chiruta and C. Ashwini Dutt produced the film under Vyjayanthi Movies. Chirutha has been a cool entry for a debutant actor Charan. It fared good at the box office.

All his movies start with a divide talk and end as block busters. His Pokiri was his first movie which had a silver jubilee run at the box-office. Pokiri even completed 200 days and Completed 562 days in Kurnool. Prince Mahesh Starrer Pokiri is the only film in 75 years of Telugu Industry to Run for more than 500 days.Its total run was of 562 Days which is an All Time South India Record.

His recent film was Chiruta, with Ram Charan Teja and Neha Sharma in the lead roles. The film was Ram charan’s debut film who is the son of Tollywood Megastar, Chiranjeevi.Jagannadh directed Ram Charan Teja’s first film Chiruta and C. Ashwini Dutt produced the film under Vyjayanthi Movies.

His latest film Neninthe with Ravi Teja was released on 18 December 2008 and the film took satisfactory openings but later was declared an average film in Puri’s career after delivering a hat-trick with Raviteja . Puri Jagannadh is one of the famous and influential director in the 2000s and he is continuing the same track record. Puri usually uses fights master such as: Vijayan, Allan Amin, and Vijay. Vijayan also popularly work’s for Puri’s films. He composed the fights for Pokiri, Desamuduru, Chiruta, and Bujjigadu.

Puri Jagannath  is a prominent Tollywood film director and producer. His brother SaiRam is also a hero in Tollywood. He is considered one of the sought after filmmakers in the Telugu movie industry especially after the blockbuster hit Pokiri. He is also a two time Nandi Award recipient.
