Music Director Mickey J Meyer Profile

The young music director Mickey J Meyer is widely appreciated for his tunes in films is an Indian music composer and singer. He is a soundtrack composer in contemporary Telugu Cinema.

Mickey J Meyer was born and brought up in Hyderabad, Mickey studied in St.Mary’s College in Yousufguda, Hyderabad.

From his childhood itself Mickey J Meyer learnt violin and piano and is also trained in Carnatic music. After his fifth standard, Mickey J Meyer got admission into the prestigious Trinity College of Music, London. He graduated for the eight-year long music course in the year 2002 and thereafter began practicing music.

According to Mickey, he got addicted to music because of A. R. Rahman -who he hails as an inspiration and his most favourite musician- as he grew up listening to Rahman’s music mostly.

Mickey J Meyer approached Tammareddy Bharadwaja and in the form of Pothe Poni (2005), he got his first break in the Telugu music industry. His music for Pothe Poni was succeeded by 10th Class (2006) and Notebook (2007) in the following years.

Then Mickey J Meyer composed music for Sekhar Kammula’s film Happy Days, which was widely noticed and lauded and was considered as one of the best albums of the year.

Mickey J Meyer was awarded the Best Music Director Award at the three major Telugu Film Awards.

Following this breakthrough album, Mickey J Meyer got the opportunities to compose the scores and songs for the Telugu films Hare Ram and Kotha Bangaru Lokam, which slowly established him in the Telugu film industry

Mickey J Meyer was retained as the music director in both the films (Jolly Days and Inidhu Inidhu in Kannada and Tamil languages, and his entry into other Indian film industries. Mickey J Meyer’s work has mostly seen hints of Western music as he owes this to his schooling from the Trinity College of Music, London.
