Kshetram Movie Review

Story:

Narasimha Rayalu (Jagapathi Babu) and Lakshmi (Priyamani) dies in the hands of their own people (Aditya Menon, Kota Srinivasa Rao) when they try to bring Lord Lakshmi Narasimha’s idol from forest to the temple. If they do so, the trust money would be distributed to the poor people in that area. So Narasimha and Lakshmi are killed and Lakshmi’s soul lingers around until Sohani (Priyamani) comes to marry Chakri (Shyam), who is the reincarnated form of Narasimha. Lakshmi’s soul gets into Sohani and fulfills her husband desire by killing all the evildoers.

Analysis:

The plot of this movie is good enough to be a commercial film which would work with the masses. However, the bad execution has been the biggest flaw. Screenplay of the film is absolutely pathetic. Director failed to bring out the right emotions in many scenes.

Most part of the film looks like a television serial with bad shot making and poor production values. Even the presence of Jagapathi Babu and Priyamani didn’t help much. Their characters are badly written and the worst part is Jagapathi Babu looked out of place in this movie.

His so called powerful dialogues ended up as comedic stuff and Priyamani really didn’t get a chance to lift the spirits up. Climax is hurried and absolute nonsense after all the unnecessary build up that is given until then.

Performances:

Priyamani is just Okay and Jagapathi Babu looked weak in a powerful role. Aditya Menon is regular and Kota is routine. Rajiv Kanakala is wasted and Brahmanandam is seen in a couple of scenes. Tanikella Bharani is surprisingly loud in this movie. There are so many actors in Kshetram and none of them really made any impact.
