Personal Life:

Kamal Hassan  is  an actor, director, producer, screenplay writter, lyricst, comedian, dancer, singer in the Indian Film Industry, who has acted mostly in commercialised films in his film career.Kamal Hassan was born 7 November 1954 in Paramakudi Tamil Nadu to D. Srinivasan a criminal lawyer, and mother Rajalakshmi. He studied at Holy Angels School in T Nagar. When Producer AVM Saravanan noticed Kamal as a hyperactive childwhen young boy Kamal Hassan accompanied a family doctor of Meyyappa Chettiar who introduced him to AV Meyyappa Chettiar who was looking for a young boy to play a role in the movie.

At the age of four-year-old Kamal Hassan made his film debut as child artist in Kalathur Kannamma, directed by A. Bhimsingh with actor Gemini Ganesan, and won the National Film Award for Best Child Artist. Then his journey started into films with more films as a child actor. Kamal Haasan parents supported and helped Kamal Hassan seeing his interests in arts, joined him in the TKS Nataka Sabha, an old-style theatre where T. K. Shanmugam was his guru. Kamal Hassan continued with his school education at Hindu High School and learned acting by watching his guru performing on stage and acquired his interest in make-up and acting.

After seven years gap from films Kamal Haasan returned to the industry and appeared in supporting roles in several films. He was first noticed in the supporting role in K. Balachander’s Arangetram (1973). His first lead role in Maanavan (1970), where he appeared only for a dance sequence, but could not get break so Kamal Hassan still continued in supporting roles in films such as, Annai Velankani, Sollathaan Ninaikkiren and Gumasthavin Magal.Kamal Hassan acted in Malayalam debut film in the lead role in Kanyakumari (1974) for which he won his first regional Filmfare Award.

Film Apoorva Raagangal, was Kamal Hassan’s debut film in lead role in Tamil, awarded with Filmfare award. Since then Kamal Haasan ruled the film industry for four decades with his acting skills and entertaining the audience till today. As a versatile actor Kamal Hassan acted in many Indaian languages like Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Hindi and Bengali films. Kamal Hassan is a trained playback singer and penned the lyrics for the soundtracks of some of his recent films.

Kamal Hassan has set up his own film production company, Rajkamal International, and has produced several of his films. He even entered into direction field and directed the films like Chachi 420, Hey Ram and Virumaandi. Kamal Hassan married Vani Ganapathy, who was older than he a costume designer for his movies, the couple put an end of their ten years marital relationship. Then Kamal Haasan married his co star Sarika which ended up with divorce.

Kamal Hassan is involved in several social service activities through his fan clubs under the banner Kamal Narpani Iyakkam. The magazine Mayyam, run by the Kamal Haasan Welfare Association is also involved by him. No other actor in the world living or dead has won awards as Kamal Hassan who won about 171 awards in his career.
