Gracy Singh was born on July 20, 1980 in Delhi, in Punjabi family. She had actively participated in her school plays and dances. Gracy Singh was so passionate about dancing that she learnt classical dance during her vacations. After schooling Gracy Singh started her career as dancer in the dance group “The Planets” along with Ronica Jacobs. She was spotted by Sanjiv Bhattacharya in one of her dance shows and Gracy Singh was offered the role of ‘Dinky’ in the soap opera “Amaanat” in ZEE TV.

After she got an acting role in the film Hum Aapke Dil Mein Rehte Hain as Kajol’s younger sister and in Hu Tu Tu which lead her to her biggest role yet opposite Aamir Khan in Lagaan.: Once Upon a Time in India where she played a village belle to perfection and was nominated for best debut losing

Gracy Singh’s innocent face and soft voice impressed Ashutosh and she became part of the film which went on to create history.

During her screen test for Lagaan, Gracy Singh danced to the song “Hothon pe aisi baat”, which was originally played by Vyjanthimala in Jewel Thief.

Gracy Singh always wanted to do something artistic like singing, dancing, or designing. She then began a number of hit films in Telugu and Hindi including Munnabhai M.B.B.S and Santosham. Her performances have since been lesser and lesser. She is director of the NGO Save our Souls for abolishing dowry. She is rumoured to be engaged to her Photographer Ravi Gaurav which is completely unsubstantiated.

Gracy was offered a role Qayamat but she turned it down as it was just skin show, Neha Dhupia later got that role.

She wants to be known for her acting and not for her body.

Although Gracy may have been quiet for a while, she is still a hot celebrity in India and it will be interesting to see where her career goes.

She has a Kannada movie Meghave Meghave in hand as well as Aseema and Ramdev.
