Ramana Reddy was born on October 1, 1921 in Jagadevipeta in Nellore district. Ramana Reddy’s original name was Tikkavarapu Venkata Ramana Reddy.

Ramana Reddy worked as a sanitary inspector before becoming an actor. He was good at Magic, used to give Magic shows and helped many voluntary organizations.
He acted in many films as comedian and comedy villain.

Ramana Reddy has debuted in 1951 with the film Mayapilla directed by R. S. Prakash. He has played many roles opposite N.T. Rama Rao and A.N.R. Some of his memorable roles are David in Missamma and Chinnamayya in Mayabazar (1957).
