Iron Leg Shastri born as Gunupudi Vishwanatha Shastri, G Vishwanatha Shastri. Before appearing in movies Iron Leg Sastry was tied up with pourouhitam.

G Vishwanatha Shastri was known as “Iron Leg” Shastri in Telugu cinema, which he entered in 1992.
Shastri was introduced to the industry by noted director E V V Satyanarayana. His first picture was ‘Appula Appa Rao.

Iron Leg Shastri started his career with Akkineni’s Yuvaraju, Prema Khaidi. In Appula Apparao movie, director E .V.V has named him as ‘iron leg’ Shastry.
He worked for 12 films with E .V.V.

Iron Leg Shastri has worked in more than 150 films as a comedian. He was away from films before he died.

Shastri died on June 18, 2006, following cardiac arrest at his residence in Tadepalligudem.
