Choreographer Lawrence Profile

Lawrence Raghavendra is an Indian choreographer, film actor, director, composer and philanthropist from Chennai, Lawrence being one of the Top choreographers of Telugu and Tamil film industry is best known for his intricate hip-hop and westernized dance moves.

After converting from Christianity to Hinduism, Lawrence is known for his philanthropic activities and his anti-American anti-Christian stand through movies like Irumbu Kottai Murattu Singam.

Raghava Lawrence was born on October 29th in Tamilnadu. He started his film career as a dancer. It was actor Rajnikanth who blessed him to join the film industry. He paid 10,000 Rs. on behalf of him to the Dancer\’s Association and bought him the dancer card.

Then Lawrence joined as a dancer to Shiva Shankar master for one year and then worked under Prabhu Deva for 5 months. He is the first and only dancer to become master with in two years of entering the field as dancer.

Lawrence has starred in Tamil films such as Parthale Paravasam, Muni and Pandi.

Telugu Mega star Chiranjeevi got impressed with Lawrence dance sequences and gave him a chance to work in the Telugu film Hitler. The film became a big hit and he reached the pinnacle of glory.
Then he entered into direction with several Telugu films such as Mass, Style and Don.

Lawrence built a Temple of SRI Ragavendra swami at Thirumulaivoyil in Ambattur.

During his child hood days, Lawrence suffered from Brain tumor and had struggled a lot to get out of it. This incident made him to help the poor and downtrodden people. Is a founder of charitable trust called Lawrence Charitable Trust to help the poor and needy. Lawrence runs a disability home for youth with physical disabilities and uses most of his film income for the home’s budget.

Lawrence Raghavendra is a choreographer-turned-actor-turned- director in the Tamil Film Industry.
