Megastar Chiranjeevi, was born on August 22nd 1955 in Mogalturu, which is a small village in 'West Godavari' District of Andhra Pradesh to Sri Konedala Venkat Rao and Konedala Anjana Devi. He spend his childhood with his grand parents, where his family members are staying in another place according to his father’s occupation. He learnt Discipline and hard work at the early stage of his childhood itself. Megastar Chiranjeevi’s education was nomadic accounting to his father Venkat Rao’s frequent transfers to Ongole, Chirala, Bapatla, Nellore etc, Megastar Chiranjeevi build a good friend circle wherever he was.

Megastar Chiranjeevi did his schooling in Nidadavolu, Gurajala, Ponnuru, Mangalagiri and Mogalturu. He won the first place in his first performance as Parandamayya Panthulu. After completion of his high school, Megastar Chiranjeevi joined Bi.P.C in P.R.Sharma Jr. College at Ongole and after that he finished his B.Com from Narasapur college.

After completion of B.Com graduation, Megastar Chiranjeevi shifted to Madras to find his suitable movie roles in the Film Industry. Later he joined in a film institute in the year of 1977 to get ready in front of camera.

After completion of diploma course in the Film Institute Producer Kranthi Kumar has offered the lead role in the film Punadi Rallu in the direction of Raj Kumar, which is the first stone to the acting career of Varaprasad as Chiranjeevi. Even though Punadi Raalu was his first movie, but the first released picture was Pranam Khareedu. Pranam kareedhu was released on September 22nd, 1978 directed by K Vasu. The second movie Manavoori Pandavulu was released on 09.11.1978 from which Chiranjeevi is recognized as an artiste by the telugu audience.In the beginning of his career he has done some negative roles in the movies like Kukka Kaatuki Cheppu Debba, Kotthapeta Rowdi etc. After that he concentrated on the risky fights with out duplicate and some speed steps which gives him the special reorganization in the audience.

Megastar Chiranjeevi has married Surekha, who is the daughter of Legendary Comedy actor Allu Ramalingayya, on February, 20th of 1980 at 11.50 AM. The couple is blessed with two daughters and a son i.e. Susmitha, Ram Charan Teja and Srija respectively.

Films like Punnami Naagu, Mogudu Kaavali, Kiraayi Rowdeelu, Subhalekha, Maga Maharaju, Intlo Raamayya-Veedhilo Krishnayya, Abhilasha, Manthri Gaari Viyyankudu etc., are the super-hits in the early of his career.

In the year of 1983, the film KHAIDI was released which took Megastar Chiranjeevi in to real heights. His dance and fights in this film are still a rage among the movie lovers. He never turned back after this. The films like Goonda, Donga, Nagu, Adavi Donga, Yama Kinkarudu, Kirathakudu, Rusthum established in the action roles. He became the Dynamic Hero at that time.

In 1987 the film Pasivadi Pranam released and gave Chiranjeevi a super stardom. Variety of dances were introduced. Chiranjeevi created sensation with his steps which is known as "Break Dance". In 1987 itself he acted in SwayamKrushi under the direction of kalatapasvi K. Viswanath and for his wonderful performance state government of Andhra Pradesh honored him with Nandi Award.

In K.S.Rama Rao’s film Marana Mrudangam the title “Megastar” was used in the first time which was released in 1988 August. In the same year Rudraveena was released which is directed by K.Balachander, and bagged the "Nargis Dutt" award for Megastar Chiranjeevi in the national level.

With the movies like Gang Leader, Rowdi Alludu, Jagadeka Veerudu Athiloka Sundari, Gharana Mogudu which were released in the first half of 90’s decade Megastar Chiranjeevi’s career graph reached to roaring heights and every movie creates new bob office records.

Even though he has massive hits in his career some average and flop movies are also there like Mechanic Alludu, S.P.Parasuram, Big Boss, Rickshavodu etc.

For the first time in his career no film was released in the year of 1996 and after Rickshavodu with the gap of one year he come forward with much better and versatile character with the film Hitler which is a huge hit. After that he acted in different roles in the films like 'Master', 'Baavagaaru Baagunnara', 'Choodaalani Vundi', 'Sneham Kosam', 'Iddaru Mithrulu', 'Annayya', 'Indra', ‘Tagore’,‘Andarivaadu’,‘Jai Chiranjeeva’, 'Stalin', 'Shankar Dada MBBS' and Shankar Dada Zindabad.

Megastar Chiranjeevi was also acted in couple of Bollywood films like 'Prathibandh', 'Aaj ka Goondaraj' and the dubbed version of 'Gang Leader', The hunters of the Indian treasure, introduced Chiranjeevi to foreign spectators as well.
