The very talented and versatile South Indian actor Arvind Swamy who proved his talent with only few films remains in the minds of audience forever with his impressive perfomance.

Arvind Swamy was born on 18 June 1970 in Tiruchirappalli, Tamil Nadu to television actor Delhi Kumar, but was adopted by his uncle, industrialist V. D. Swamy, he lost both his parents. He did his schooling in Sishya School and Don Bosco schools, completed his degree in commerce from the Loyola College of Chennai and did Masters in International Business from Wake Forest University in North Carolina.

Arvind Swamy’s hobby for acting made him appear in only 15 movies, in a career spanning almost two decades.

Arvind Swamy was introduced into Film industry through film Thalapathi by Mani Ratnam, but got his break in films as lead hero was once again with Mani Ratnam’s film Roja, was a blockbuster film throughout the country, and his performance established his position as an actor. His next film Bombay, opposite Hindi actress Manisha Koirala was his another bloscbuster movie.

He acted in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Hindi films ane few of his films like Roja and Bombay was debuted in almost all Indian languages. Both films Roja and Bombay having a national integration theme won many awards at the State and National levels.

Though Arvind Swamy was a Tamil actor he got fame throughout the country and has won several awards, popular and critical, for his films.

In Malayalam, Arvind Swamy acted in two films Devaragam and Daddy.
Film Merupukalalu, Arvind Swamy co-starred with Prabhu Deva and Hindi film actress Kajol was a musical hit film.

Arvind Swamy got married to Gayathri was a lecturer in Stella Mary’s College, Chennai, They have a daughter Adhira and son Rudra.Both applied for divorce after seven years of their marriage.

Since he started films as hobby was very choosy about his roles as acting had never been the mainstream career option for him.In spite of his superstar status, Arvind Swamy  decided to quit acting and pursue other interests and retired from acting in 2000.

Arvind Swamy got engaged in a number of other business sectors, and became Tamil actor and businessman. He served as chairman and managing director of Prolease India and InterPro India currently the Chairman and MD of Talent Maximus which is engaged in Payroll Processing and Employee administration.

Arvind Swamy was once the heartthrobe of his female fans with his charm he attracted the whole country and made them his fans. He is the first and last Actor in Tamil Nadu who gave open press statement to all his fans not to open any ‘Fan Club’ and take care of their family instead of wasting time and effort with such a worthless activity.
